312:365 Blue Water

The sky was so blue that you'd think the water was blue in this picture. I took this photo today while I was walking with Elmo. I'll be walking each day this week and taking a pic each day.

311:365 Time to smell the roses

Another rose to be blooming beautifully. I love the colors how they move from apricot to pink. The smell is just as beautiful and I'm lucky to have time to smell the roses. They say you should make time to smell the roses.

310:365 Election Roses

Two State elections ago I won this rose in the raffle at the election booth that was held at my school. It gets very little care and blooms each year. Sometimes I forget how hardy roses can be.

309:365 Garbagemen of the bush

After 10 days sitting on an ant nest the brown snake is now a shadow of its former self. It's been eaten away to its skeleton and skin. Ants can be such a help in cleaning up the bush.

308:365 Hatchlings

The pigeons have hatched. After weeks of sitting the mother has left her nest and there are two chicks. They come with the spikes on their heads. This is what sets them apart from European pigeons. They are native to Australia. The mother around the back in the fruit tree is still sitting. I hope she hasn't got duds. They are called crested pigeons.

307:365 If I wait long enough

Another Tabby, not ours but this tabby was asleep on a fish tank in the Bushes pets shop. He sat there asleep and was enjoying the warmth coming through from the light. I wondered if the fish knew he was there waiting for them.

306:365 Town Hall Clock

The town hall in Bendigo is a gracious old building and has a lovely clock tower. It's situated in the center of Bendigo.

305:365 Colors that don't go

Have you ever tried to read words in the wrong color like orange but it's green colored text. This business is called blue line office supplies but the whole place is painted bright red and the van. Very strange.

304:365 Introducing Rosie

This is Rosie our new cat that we got from the RSPCA. She is a little girl and is one year old although she is as small as a 6 mths old cat. Rosie purrs very loudly and likes to be patted and stroked.

We got Rosie while the Melbourne Cup was running and called her Rosie as we saw lots of Roses at Flemington and thought Rosie would be a good name.

303:365 Rain and Spiders

With the rain and warmer temps 2 spiders decided to come out of hiding. One in the bedroom and this one in the kitchen. I don't mind when they stay on the ceiling but if they come down closer they have to go. The one in the bedroom decided it liked the bedside lamp and was walking around and around it looking for the end. Bill came and picked him up and let him go outside.
When I was a teenager and prob until my mid twenties ( could be until I had children) I was petrified of spiders and couldn't stay in the same room. I seemed to have the uncanny knack to discover spiders in all sorts of places. Bedlamps and behind the sun visor in the car were popular places for spiders to be found.
I remember as a grad teacher having a male teacher on staff coming in to take the spider out after I had evacuated the class. Now a lesson on ecosystems would be given and it would be left alone. Then there was another occasion when the school secretary found a spider in her typewriter.
Spiders!
