65:365 Early Autumn
The nights are cool and great for sleeping. The days are sunny and warm. The vines are beginning to turn which doesn't usually happen until mid to late April. So yes Autumn is here and Summer has gone.
We escaped without bushfires for the first year in a long long time. Floods have ravaged parts of the State of Victoria.
The garden has remained green all summer. I'll miss those first rains in Autumn when you see the grass growing in the paddocks day by day.

51:365 My new pencil case
Today I bought a new pencil case. Except it's not for my pencils as I don't use any. However as a child I treasured my Derwent pencils and spent pocket money buying one pencil a week to build up a set of 72.
I still think Derwents are the best pencils and the water color ones are also great. Draw then add water with a brush.
I now use pencil cases for all my cables, headphones and power cords. The brighter the better so I don't leave it anywhere.

50:365 Wye River
Two weekends ago we went down to the beach at Wye River. Katherine organized a beautiful house for our family to all stay together. This is the view we had and I realized I didn't add it to my 365blog. So it's a bit late but worth it. The house was called Azure and Wye River was perfect. Love to go back in the winter as the house would be full of winter sun with great views.

26:365 Is this Australia?
Today is Australia day.
The day we celebrate being an Aussie and living in lucky Oz. I always come home from overseas thinking just how good we have it in Australia and
how lucky we are.
This is an Australian farm gate. Most farms have this style of gate for keeping stock in and unwanted visitors out.

22:365 The Waterholes
We went out walking a little late today at 9:50 am. I could feel the heat starting to rise and the morning freshness was gone. My real thermometer is Elmo as he doesn't really like water but when he's hot he goes in and wades while he drinks. The dams are all very full Which is a first for over a decade.

21:365 Look up
Ever take the time to look up? I did today in Melbourne and it still amazes me how they build these sky scrapers. This crane was on a site next door but from this angle it looks like the crane is hanging over the tall building. The sky was a wonderful blue today. Magnificent!

20:365 The Apple Effect
Why is it iPads in their boxes look so nice and make you feel good? In fact whenever you get an Apple product you get this feeling "Like a kid on Christmas morning" as uttered on twitter by someone about to open their new MacBook Pro. You can even find videos on YouTube of people opening Apple products. The Apple Effect.

19:365 Citrus Butterfly
A beautiful butterfly or perhaps butterflies have been visiting the citrus trees everyday. I've never seen these large butterflies at our house before. They are very big with a wing span of 140mm. This is the female butterfly.
I had great trouble taking a photo as it wouldn't sit still. So I have one of the shots I took and a screen shot I took from the CSIROs website.
