328:365 White on White

The white iPhone may be the last white iphones made. Apple have not yet made a new white iPhone you can only get black. This was today's daily shoot assignment to take a shot of white on white. So my Macbook became the white background.

I'm not sure if this is where you go to collect lost luggage at the train station.

326:365 Apple shortcake

Almost burnt! My oven cooks outside much faster than the inside. This is my Mum's recipe that she used to make and it's yummy with cream. A recipe that has been handed down.

325:365 Looking or reading

Do we look or read when we are trying to find something? They changed the can label on the pie apples at the supermarket. It took me ages to find these apple. It used to be a green label.

323:365 Nesting

There are nests everywhere with young chicks calling out for food. This is the nest of a currawong I think. I's hard to see with the back light but is virtually a bowl on a branch. It's a very neat job.

322:365 Home Comforts

Milo thinks these new hand bowls are just the thing for a nap on a hot day. I wonder if he likes water?

320:365 Fungi

With all the rain we have had not only do we have lots of wildflowers but we also have a variety of fungi growing in the bush that hasn't been seen for some years.
I put these photos from my iPhone onto my iPad using duplicam and then brought them into pages. I took a screen shot on pages and then used crop suey to get just the fungi for this blog and used blogpress. I call this piggy backing, using apps to get from one product to another.

319:365 A new gadget

Today I received the camera I ordered the other day. it's called a point2view camera. I'll be using it to display my iPods and ipads on a large screen at presentations. Also it takes quite good photos so I may use it for my 365 Pics. Another use will be for skype so I can move the camera around easily to show things. It has 3x zoom and allows flipping vertical and horizontal.

At this early stage I like it lots. When I travel it will be just great because it only weighs 568gms in the box. My document camera in it's case weighs 5 kgs.
This is an iPod that the camera is sitting next to but it looks like an iPad.

318:365 Bottlebrushes

The bottlebrushes are now all out and weighing down the whole plant. Large wattle birds come and eat the nectar. They are very hard to take a picture of though and see movement quickly inside the house and fly away. I need a hidey place.

317:365 Another knee

Carey and Nic came for dinner and Rosie had to try out the new knee in the house. She is such a friendly cat.

316:365 Footprints

Can you recognize these footprints? What animal makes them? This animal jumped out in front of me and Elmo while we were walking in the bush. Yes jumped is the clue, it's a kangaroo's footprints. Elmo went for a little chase but was quickly left behind to my relief as kangaroos can slice and dice dogs.

315:365 Remembrance Day

Today I visited my friend Sue's and had the walk around the garden as we always do. This year Sue's garden is the best it's been in 18 years. Everything has grown and the flowering plants have flowered beautifully. Sue loves the garden and you can see it in her garden.

The poppies were growing in the centre of the garden around the birdbath. So today being Remembrance day seemed seemed the perfect day to feature them here.

Lest we forget.

314:365 Wildflowers

Each time I take Elmo for a walk in the bush I am amazed at the amount of different wildflowers that have grown this summer.
These are just some of the wildflowers I can see while I stay on the track.

313:365 What shape is a strawberry?

These are both strawberries. The one on the right is not the usual shape you would expect. I wonder how it grew like this?

312:365 Blue Water

The sky was so blue that you'd think the water was blue in this picture. I took this photo today while I was walking with Elmo. I'll be walking each day this week and taking a pic each day.

311:365 Time to smell the roses

Another rose to be blooming beautifully. I love the colors how they move from apricot to pink. The smell is just as beautiful and I'm lucky to have time to smell the roses. They say you should make time to smell the roses.

310:365 Election Roses

Two State elections ago I won this rose in the raffle at the election booth that was held at my school. It gets very little care and blooms each year. Sometimes I forget how hardy roses can be.

309:365 Garbagemen of the bush

After 10 days sitting on an ant nest the brown snake is now a shadow of its former self. It's been eaten away to its skeleton and skin. Ants can be such a help in cleaning up the bush.

308:365 Hatchlings

The pigeons have hatched. After weeks of sitting the mother has left her nest and there are two chicks. They come with the spikes on their heads. This is what sets them apart from European pigeons. They are native to Australia. The mother around the back in the fruit tree is still sitting. I hope she hasn't got duds. They are called crested pigeons.

307:365 If I wait long enough

Another Tabby, not ours but this tabby was asleep on a fish tank in the Bushes pets shop. He sat there asleep and was enjoying the warmth coming through from the light. I wondered if the fish knew he was there waiting for them.

305:365 Colors that don't go

Have you ever tried to read words in the wrong color like orange but it's green colored text. This business is called blue line office supplies but the whole place is painted bright red and the van. Very strange.

304:365 Introducing Rosie

This is Rosie our new cat that we got from the RSPCA. She is a little girl and is one year old although she is as small as a 6 mths old cat. Rosie purrs very loudly and likes to be patted and stroked.

We got Rosie while the Melbourne Cup was running and called her Rosie as we saw lots of Roses at Flemington and thought Rosie would be a good name.
